Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 07, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Snuggly app for iPhone and to the Snuggly website at snugglyapp.com and lunasonic.io (together, the "Service"), both operated by Lunasonic Inc. (the "Service Provider", "we"). It explains what information the Service handles, what stays on your device, what reaches third parties, and the choices you have.

Snuggly has no user accounts and we run no servers of our own. Your recordings, your due date and any photo you add stay on your phone. The only data that leaves your device goes to the third-party services listed below, for usage analytics, crash reporting and measuring the advertising that brought you to Snuggly.

Information that stays on your device

The app works with the following information, all of which is stored only on your phone and never uploaded by us:

• Heartbeat recordings. The app uses your phone's microphone to listen for and record your baby's heartbeat. Recordings are saved in the app's own storage on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share them, through the sharing options you pick (such as Messages, email or AirDrop), and saved to your photo library only when you ask the app to.
  • Your due date and pregnancy week. Used to show the current week and to time optional reminders. Stored on the device.
  • Photos you add. If you add a photo to a share template, the app uses the photo you selected. It is stored on the device and included only in the share you create.
  • Reminders. Weekly reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. No notification data is sent to us.
  • Buying the app. Snuggly is bought through Apple's App Store; there are no in-app purchases. Apple processes the payment and is the controller of your payment information. We only receive aggregated sales statistics from Apple.

Deleting the app deletes all of this information from your device.

Information collected automatically

When you use the app or the website, some technical information is sent to the third-party services described below. It may include your device's IP address, device model and operating system version, your language and country, the app version, the dates and times of use, which screens or pages you viewed and which features you used, and crash reports. Depending on your choices, it may also include an advertising identifier (IDFA) or an advertising cookie.

We do not collect your name, email address, contact details or any health information. Heartbeat recordings and your due date are never transmitted.

Third-party services

In the app

  • Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config (Google). Analytics records usage events (screens viewed, features used) with device information and a per-installation identifier, so we can understand how the app is used. Crashlytics collects crash reports so we can fix bugs. Remote Config delivers app settings. Firebase privacy information
  • Meta (Facebook) SDK. Sends app events such as app installs and app launches to Meta so we can measure the performance of our Meta advertising. On iOS, Meta is allowed to use these events for tracking across apps only if you grant permission in the App Tracking Transparency prompt the app shows. If you decline, the events are not linked to your advertising identifier. Meta privacy policy
  • Apple. The App Store processes your purchase of the app and provides us with aggregated download and sales statistics, including which advertising campaign a download came from. Apple privacy policy

On the website

  • Google Analytics 4. Measures visits to the website (pages viewed, approximate location, device, how you arrived). Google privacy policy
  • Meta Pixel. Measures visits and clicks on the App Store button that came from our Meta advertising. Meta privacy policy
  • Netlify. Hosts the website and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operation. Netlify privacy policy

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Mexico, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel are loaded only after you accept the cookie banner. Elsewhere they load automatically. See "Cookies" below.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website stores the following on your device:

  • Consent cookies (gatsby-gdpr-consent, gatsby-gdpr-google-analytics, gatsby-gdpr-facebook-pixel): remember your choice in the cookie banner. Kept for one year.
  • Country cookies (geo_consent_required, geo_country): record which country your visit comes from, to decide whether the cookie banner is required. Kept for one day.
  • Language cookie (lang_pref): remembers the language you chose, so you are not redirected to another language on your next visit. Kept for one year.
  • Campaign parameters: if you arrive from an advertisement, the campaign parameters in the link are kept in your browser session so that the App Store link can carry them. They are discarded when you close the browser tab.
  • Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies: set by those services, after consent where required, to recognise your browser across visits. See their policies for details.

The app itself does not use cookies.

Why we process this information and on what basis

  • To provide the app (recordings, due date, reminders): necessary to perform the service you asked for. This information does not leave your device.
  • To keep the app working and improve it (usage analytics, crash reports, remote configuration): our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving a reliable app.
  • To measure our advertising and website (Meta SDK, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics on the website): your consent where the law requires it (the App Tracking Transparency prompt in the app, the cookie banner on the website), and otherwise our legitimate interest in understanding how people find Snuggly.
  • To comply with the law: where we are legally required to process or disclose information.

Sharing and disclosure

Other than the third-party services above, we do not sell or share your information. We may disclose automatically collected information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request;
  • with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions.

International transfers

The third-party services above are operated by companies in the United States and may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, these companies rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or other recognised mechanisms. Data protection laws in other countries may differ from those in your own.

Retention

  • Information on your device: kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
  • Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
  • Analytics and advertising measurement: kept by Google and Meta according to their own retention periods, typically between 2 and 26 months.
  • Website server logs: kept by Netlify for a limited period for security purposes.
  • Aggregated statistics that no longer identify anyone may be kept indefinitely.

We hold no personal data on servers of our own, so there is nothing further for us to retain.

Your choices

  • Microphone, notifications and photo access can be changed at any time in your phone's Settings.
  • Tracking by Meta can be refused in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or changed later under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Website cookies can be declined in the cookie banner, deleted in your browser, or blocked by your browser's settings.
  • Uninstalling the app stops all collection and deletes everything the app stored on your device. It does not delete information already held by the third-party services listed above; their policies explain how to exercise your rights with them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, to receive a copy of it, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold no personal data on our own systems, requests about data held by Google, Meta, Apple or Netlify may need to be made to them directly; we will help where we can. To exercise your rights with us, contact us at the address below.

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. Sharing for advertising measurement can be opted out of through the App Tracking Transparency prompt and the cookie banner, as described above.

Children

Snuggly is intended for expecting parents and not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Your recordings and personal information stay on your device, protected by your phone's own security. Information sent to the third-party services above is transmitted over encrypted connections.

Data breach notification

If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including the nature of the breach and the steps being taken.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always published on this page. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent to material changes before they take effect. Previous versions are available on request.

This policy is effective as of 7 October 2026.
